Elizabeth “Liz” Murphy is an independent CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) practitioner. She is affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services which is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the nation. She coordinates the financial affairs for individuals and families who are focused on preserving assets, maintaining their current lifestyle throughout retirement and minimizing tax liability. Her collaboration with her clients’ CPAs and attorneys gives them the peace of mind of knowing that their financial decisions are well coordinated.
Liz received a B.A. and M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in an environment of high morals and ethics. As a CFP® practitioner she follows a fiduciary standard and abides by the CFP® Board’s “Standards of Professional Conduct” which sets forth ethical responsibilities to her clients. She completes Continuing Education courses each year to stay current with developments in the financial planning profession.
As a 28-year resident of the Rogue Valley Liz firmly believes in supporting the community. She has volunteered for the Ashland Community Health Foundation, AAUW Ashland, Ashland Food Project, Ashland Rotary Club and Britt Festival. She is past president of the Ashland Schools Foundation, Ashland Newcomers Club, Ashland Community Health Foundation, U of O Parent and Family Association, and Women Entrepreneurs of Oregon.
Liz’s most important role is mother of three young adult children who are the proud owners of retirement accounts and understand the value of establishing goals, earning money to meet those goals, and saving for the future. Christopher and wife Rose, Elise and husband Justin, and Neil are all graduates of the University of Oregon. She is starting early with passing on these values to her four grandchildren who all live locally.
Outside the office Liz enjoys a variety pack of activities including hiking, tennis, snowshoeing, skiing, and yoga. She gets in “the zone” in front of her sewing machine making gifts. She loves being a social planner for gatherings of family and friends. And time with her children and grandchildren is priceless!
